Colombian Coffee for Good.

At the heart of Swillings is IMPACT.

Jon Paul, Karl, and C'pher drew out a supply chain that would concentrate the most value in the same community that grows the coffee. Our process is simple, but the impact is powerful. We are part of the community. We spend days working with farmers in Colombia to improve their crop yields, while encouraging them to use only organic chemicals. Our targeted impact is focused in Risalrada state in Colombia.

Swillings Coffee empowers the growing community.

Farmer Impact

Our team is based in Colombia and can provide weekly support to the growing community. While most buyers in the coffee industry travel for a few weeks to exotic climates to sample the best beans, few stay for weeks to help improve the knowledge and farming techniques of the farmers - we do. Karl is in the community, engaging all stakeholders, to find the most effective solution to increase crop quality, empower for more socially responsible employment for migrant workers, and educate on how to receive top dollar for their crop.

Coffee Picker Impact

Through education on the best farming techniques, the fincas we work with do not use harmful chemicals. Traditionally, the pickers of the coffee bean are exposed to many harmful toxic chemicals. We educate the farmers to not use these chemicals. The pickers that are employed on farms we work with do not get exposed to these harmful chemicals. Further, we work with farms to stagger their harvest to employ individuals year-round.

Scalable Impact

We designed our impact to scale, as our business scales. The more bags of coffee are sold, the more individuals are employed in Colombia, the more education classes can be held, and the more farmers are using sustainable, organic farming techniques. With every retail and commercial client we serve, we can impact hundreds of lives in the growing community.

Gender Equality Impact

Most small-scale farms are patriarchal family farms where the family is completely dependent on the harvest and commodity price for survival. By providing jobs to women in roasting and packaging, they can provide for their family with additional income on their own accord regardless of the years harvest or coffee price.

Local Impact

Through working with farmers, pickers, sorters, packers, and roasters within a local area, we are able to provide more economic growth, a stable income stream, and education. More of your dollar is going to support the growing community. This model helps secure a more equitable future for generations to come in Colombia.
